WWE WrestleMania 36 has officially been moved to the Performance Center.
The company issued a press release earlier today revealing that due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, the "Show of Shows" will not be able to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, but will still air on April 5th on the WWE Network.
In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE's training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.
Tampa City officials put the pressure on WWE when they told FOX 13 that if a decision wasn't made by this week they would pull the plugs themselves. This virus forced numerous wrestling promotions around the world to postpone events, including NJPW, IMPACT, NWA, AJPW, ROH, and forced the cancellation of WrestleCon. The WWE Hall of Fame induction of 2020, as well as NXT Takeover Tampa, will not be taking place as previously scheduled.
