There are conflicting reports making the rounds regarding Alberto El Patron (f.k.a. Alberto Del Rio) talking with WWE executives about a potential return to the company.

After his loss to Tito Ortiz, Alberto Del Rio recently told a publication in Mexico that he's been in contact with WWE and that the rocky relationship between the two sides was repaired and that he hopes to be back in the promotion sometime later this year.

"We have been in communication," said Del Rio during the interview. "We have rebuilt the bridge."

He continued, "On their part, they were wrong on some decisions and I also did some things wrong on my part. I am hoping that we can reach an agreement sometime this year or by the middle of this year I'll be back there."

This is not the first time he has made such claims, saying the same thing last year which was more or less his way of apologizing for lashing out at WWE, specifically Triple H.

According to a report by Fightful.com, WWE sources are once again denying that there is any interest in Del Rio, with one source saying that his claim is "bullsh*t" and another suggesting that WWE would much rather keep his ex-girlfriend Paige around, even if she "does nothing" for the promotion.

It is unclear what sort of relationship Paige and Del Rio currently share, but it was also noted that WWE would not want to make her uncomfortable by having him around in any capacity.
