Despite rumors to the contrary, Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk was never planned to be part of the card for this year's WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view.

Although I'm unsure where this rumor originated, apparently there's something out there suggesting that WWE's initial plans for Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 36 was to wrestle a returning CM Punk.

PWInsider has posted a "rumor killer" confirming that was not the case and was never one of the ideas that was discussed.

In fact, communication between Punk and WWE has been non-existent for not only a match but even any sort of appearance at WrestleMania in a non-wrestling capacity.

These conversations never took place and the only hints of it was when Rollins and Punk engaged in a bit of a back-and-forth on Twitter and Rollins hinted at it, however, this has not been discussed internally.

Punk remains contractually obligated to FOX for "WWE Backstage" and in recent weeks, WWE even stopped promoting his appearances on the show so there really is no relationship between the two parties as it stands right now.
