CBS Tampa news anchor Ryan Bass took to Twitter earlier today to announce that Mayor Jane Castor, along with Tampa city officials, will be meeting this Thursday to discuss postponing major events due to the Coronavirus epidemic. WWE's WrestleMania 36 is reportedly going to be a topic of discussion, as rumors of the "Show of Shows" being canceled were brought up once the first confirmed cases of the virus hit the Tampa region.
This news comes shortly after major music concerts Coachella and SXSW were shut down for safety concerns. Bass writes, "@CityofTampa and @JaneCastor will meet on Thursday to discuss canceling or postponing "major" events due to #Coronavirus. This weekend's River O'Green fest isn't likely to be canceled."
WrestleMania 36 is scheduled to take place on April 5th from Raymond James Stadium (Home of the NFL's Buccaneers) in Tampa, Florida.
