According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is currently in talks with ESPN about putting WWE content on the networks new ESPN+ service. Reports are that WWE had their eyes opened to the idea following UFC cutting the same deal with ESPN. The idea is that WWE would sell their pay per view rights to ESPN, a strategy that would net them more money than directly pushing it on the WWE network. There is also the potential for this to bring more mainstream exposure to WWE's bigger events and superstars due to ESPN heavily marketing their products.
At this time no deal has been determined. ESPN+ is owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Communications. The service was recently packaged with the new Disney+ network, and currently has over 7.6 million subscribers.
