WWE Raw star Shelton Benjamin has extended his stay in WWE.
On the latest episode of Lilian Garcia's Chasing Glory podcast the former Intercontinental and U.S. champion revealed he's re-signed with the company and plans on sticking around for a while.
Yes, I just re-signed another multi-year deal with the WWE. So, I'll be here for a little while
Benjamin does admit that he's currently frustrated with his lack of use on weekly television, and even states that he wasn't sure of what to say when asked to do the interview with Garcia.
I was reluctant because I always like to put my best foot forward. I like to be in the mix. I like to be producing. I like to inspire people. Lately, I haven't been doing much as far as on-air with the WWE. For me, it's just frustrating. So, when you contacted me to do this interview, my first thought was I don't even know what to talk about because right now, I'm not really doing anything that's fulfilling to me. I'm here every week, I'm ready to go. For me, it's like when I watch shows like this, Chasing Glory, people are chasing something. Right now, I don't even feel like I'm on the hunt. Not that I don't want to be. That just frustrates me on a personal level.
Despite an appearance in this year's Royal Rumble pay per view, Benjamin has been working WWE Main Event. His last Monday Night Raw matchup was on January 6th in a losing effort to Aleister Black. He's one of the key superstars discussed in the new Ruthless Aggression docuseries as WWE looks back on its relationship with OVW. Check out his full interview in the video above.
