WWE may be expanding their empire to the far east.

According to the Wrestling Observer, a new WWE Performance Center in Japan is expected to be announced this year. Reports are that the company has been in constant contact with WWE Hall of Famer and NJPW legend Antonio Inoki regarding the PC being built. A few months ago a story had surfaced that WWE would be working with Pro Wrestling Noah to assist with their expansion, but NOAH was recently sold to CybrAgend media and that no longer appears to be an option.

WWE will be touring Japan this summer for events in Yokohama and Osaka. Speculation is that those live events will coincide with their announcement for the Performance Center. If that happens, this will be WWE's third major Performance Center in the world. The main PC exists in Orlando, with the second being in London. Whether this will be a stepping stone for their rumored NXT Japan brand remains to be seen.
