It appears that on January 25th WWE abandoned their trademark attempt for the moniker "EC3." The company initially filed to trademark the former IMPACT champion's name last June, but received a notice of refusal the next month due to EC3 registering for his own trademark on April 23rd. If they choose, WWE can re-file the trademark application at a later date. Details of the original description for the trademark can be found below courtesy of the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office).

Since being called up to the main roster, EC3 has rarely been used. He's a former 4-time 24/7 champion, but has not been as actively involved with the gimmick belt as others. He's briefly appeared on Main Event, and had been paired with 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick on the house show circuit. However, he's not worked a house show in the last few months.
