AEW superstar and Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has sustained a minor injury.
The American Nightmare revealed in a new Instagram post that he fractured his big toe on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite in Atlanta, where he faced Wardlow in the promotion's first ever steel cage match. He states that the injury came due to the huge moonsault spot that gave him the victory, but that he's been cleared for action and not expected to miss any time. He writes, "Long way down..." - small fracture in my big toe, but I'm on a treatment plan with @docwholifts_1 & CLEARED for action."
The official AEW Twitter account confirmed the news with a post of their own. They write, "As first reported by CodyRhodes on his IG account https://instagram.com/p/B82VErulFjE/?igshid=14pkl5jg2ks1i… And confirmed by @DocSampson13. Due to Cody's foot hitting the mat after landing the moonsault, he has a: Non-displaced fracture of distal phalanx R great toe. His status: Cleared for action as tolerated."
