Cain Velasquez is preparing to return to WWE.
According toWrestling Inc, the former UFC heavyweight champion is currently training at the WWE Performance Center and is expected to be there for the next couple of weeks. Reports are that he recently had his knee scoped and is feeling healthy and ready to compete.
Velasquez made his WWE debut confronting Brock Lesnar on Friday Night SmackDown's first episode on FOX back in October. He and Lesnar would go on to face each other at the Crown Jewel pay per view for the WWE championship, a bout that Lesnar would win in less than two minutes. He was scheduled for a matchup in Mexico City the following November, but was pulled due to lingering knee issues. Velasquez signed to WWE for three years. Prior to that he worked under a mask in AAA, including once tagging with AEW superstar and VP, Cody Rhodes.
