"The King of Bros" Matt Riddle definitely won't be WWE's "Employee of the Month" for January 2020 after getting in an incident with one of the company's biggest stars in Brock Lesnar during a tense backstage confrontation at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

The NXT Superstar reportedly had what was described as a "tense verbal altercation" with the WWE Champion behind-the-scenes at the first PPV of the New Year this past weekend.

As a result, the former UFC fighter and Ultimate Fighter alum is said to be in the doghouse with WWE officials, perhaps even Vince McMahon.

It was reported on Wrestling Observer Radio at F4WOnline.com that "there is a lot of heat" on Riddle right now and the performance in the Men's Royal Rumble match where he lasted an incredibly short amount of time was specifically due to the aforementioned incident.

While on the surface it seemed like Riddle was used to generate heat for King Corbin in the Men's Rumble match, Dave Meltzer said the decision to have him come in and go out so quickly went far beyond that.
