With the first WWE pay-per-view of the New Year -- WWE Royal Rumble 2020 -- already fast-approaching with just four weeks remaining, the rumored card behind-the-scenes for the big event at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas is starting to take shape.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that confirmed for the Royal Rumble is Becky Lynch vs. Asuka for the Raw women's title - in the one-year anniversary of Asuka beating Lynch clean.
The idea of having a rematch was originally positioned for WrestleMania, was soon forgotten but has recently been revived.
Other possible matches include Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Braun Strowman for the Intercontinental title and Bayley vs. Lacey Evans for the Smackdown women's title.
Both of these bouts were originally scheduled for the TLC PPV in December before being postponed.
Currently the only matches confirmed on the PPV are the Universal title bout with The Fiend defending against Daniel Bryan as well as the 30-man and 30-woman Royal Rumble matches.
With the latter two each taking a significant amount of time (~ 1 hr), it does leave relatively less time for any other potential matches.
