"The Bad Boy" of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Joey Janela, has apparently been dealing with some pretty significant back issues, although no one would know it by watching him in the ring at AEW Full Gear and AEW Dynamite.
AEW wrestler Joey "Bad Boy" Janela issued a short statement on social media on Friday discussing his ongoing back injuries that culminated at last month's AEW Full Gear pay-per-view from Baltimore, Maryland.
According to Janela, he was barely able to get through his match against "The Chairman of AEW" Shawn Spears, and was forced to lay in the trainers room afterwards for quite a while.
Janela did, however, mention that he is finally starting to feel better and appears to be optimistic heading into the New Year in 2020.
"Been dealing with back issues for a long while now and they culminated at the [AEW] Full Gear PPV," wrote Janela via his official Twitter page this week. "Hardest match to get through in my life."
He added, "Afterwards had to lay down in the training room for an hour .. but I'm finally feeling better thanks to Bryce and the trainers at AEW."
"2020, let's go," he concluded.
