Many fans have questioned why All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is advertising their January 8th episode of AEW Dynamite as a special "Anniversary Edition" of the popular weekly television series.
The reason is because it marks the special one-year anniversary of the day of the AEW Double Or Nothing Rally at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this year.
As noted, AEW is running Daily's Place for their first episode of AEW Dynamite of the New Year, as AEW kicks off 2020 with AEW Dynamite on January 1st in Jacksonville, FL.
On Monday, AEW announced a special "First Time Ever" showdown pitting The Brotherhood (Cody & Dustin Rhodes) vs. The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) at the AEW Dynamite "Anniversary Edition" special scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th at Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi.
In related news, one of the comments on the announcement on AEW's Twitter page -- which mistakenly listed a "#Memphis" hash-tag that has confused some fans about the location of the event -- is from the official AEW Twitter account, containing yet another tease for some big news.
A fan tweeted the question, "Is this Cody's announcement?" This prompted the official AEW Twitter account to respond by writing, "No, we'll be making an announcement Christmas morning."
Check out the tease for the Christmas Morning Announcement from AEW's official Twitter account below.
