Randy Orton Signs New 5 Year WWE Deal And Issues WrestleMania Challenge

WWE confirmed this week that Randy Orton, 39, has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. Orton confirmed on Twitter that the new deal was for five years.

"The 3 most dangerous letters in sports entertainment - #RKO just re-signed with the 3 most dominant letters in sports entertainment - #WWE," Orton tweeted. "Looking forward to pi$$ing off the #WWEUNIVERSE for at least 5 more years. #WWEBACKSTAGE @FS1 @WWE"

Orton had signed a ten-year WWE contract in 2010, which was reportedly coming up in June of 2020. Orton sparked rumors that he may be interested in signing with AEW with some of his recent social media posts. Triple H commented on Orton signing, and admitted that he was happy to "put the rumors to rest."

"I'm glad to put the rumors to rest," Triple H stated (h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription). "For almost two decades, Randy Orton has been a cornerstone of WWE...and Randy Orton will remain a cornerstone of WWE for a long time!"

Orton is apparently already looking for some high profile matches in the company. After recently issuing a challenge to The Rock for WrestleMania 36, Orton took to Instagram this week to challenge John Cena for a match at the event.

"I'm on a flight to London and see this striking young man asking me a question," Orton wrote. "Why yes @johncena I am up for a challenge, are you? Let's say ohhhh I dunno, #Wrestlemania36 maybe? Or does Hollywood have you booked solid? #WM36."
