WWE Is Looking To Hire More Female Referees

WWE is reportedly looking to hire new referees, especially female referees. Casey from Squared Circle Sirens also reported that one female indy wrestler recently turned WWE down when they offered her a job as a referee. That wrestler was not identified but we will update you if that changes.

AEW just signed referee Aubrey Edwards to a full-time contract, and she made pro wrestling history by officiating the AEW All Out main event on Saturday night between Adam Page and the inaugural AEW World Champion Chris Jericho. WWE brought Edwards to Full Sail Live in July 2018 for a set of NXT TV tapings but never signed her.

WWE now has 21 referees but only one is a woman - Jessika Carr, who mainly works NXT but has also called some main roster matches since signing in 2017. As seen below, WWE profiled Carr in August 2017 after she was signed:
