Drew McIntyre was not backstage for the last two weeks of WWE RAW because he's dealing with an injury.

McIntyre reportedly recently underwent a minor surgery to help repair a lingering injury that apparently occurred during his promotional tour of Mexico in late August, according to PWInsider.

WWE wanted to go ahead and get the surgery out of the way so McIntyre can be ready for the WWE TV push in October, and the build towards WrestleMania 36 season in 2020. McIntyre is reportedly ready to return, he's just waiting on the call from WWE after their doctors clear him to return.

It was said that McIntyre could be cleared to return as soon as next week's TV shows.

Drew last wrestled on the August 26 RAW, suffering a King of the Ring tournament loss to Ricochet.
