Braun Strowman has faced some major ups and downs this year.
Strowman was scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at the WWE Royal Rumble earlier this year. The match was changed just weeks before the event, with Balor put into the match in Strowman's place, despite Strowman being healthy. Strowman ended up being a last minute entrant into the Rumble match, where he was eliminated by eventual winner Seth Rollins.
Strowman appeared on the Not Sam Wrestling podcast and admitted to being really frustrated during that time.
"I got to a point where I got really frustrated with everything that was going on," said Strowman, via Wrestling Inc. "I called Vince McMahon and asked him what is going on because I am miserable, and he talked me off the ledge. He was like, 'look big man, I want you for the long-haul. It doesn't matter what you are doing now, I care about what you are doing 10 years from now. I've invested in you. You are one of my guys, don't worry, you're fine.'
"And just hearing that coming from that man, I don't know, it's just something I legitimately walked into a production meeting one day and I was like I've had enough and was mad about everything. He kicked everybody out of the production meeting two hours before Raw was about to start, the show was about to start and he talked to me for 45 minutes a heart to heart, man to man conversation and it opened my eyes to the picture of wow, why am I worrying about this? Vince doesn't get the credit that is due to him and if he hears this, he's going to get pissed off at me putting him over, but he's unbelievable and I am very fortunate to not only work for him but to call him a fan."
Things appear to be better for Strowman now, as he is one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions with WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins. In addition to holding the tag titles, he will be challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Clash of Champions on Sunday, September 15th.
